Bruce,  you've jolted my memory.  I germinated some in 2007, and have no idea what then happened to them.  I'll have to check.

However, I do have a record of their germination.

I sowed them on February 5 (late winter), kept them in the living room which has a comfortable temperature of about 20 C, and they began germinating on March 26.  This means that radicles emerged (I sowed them in small ziplock bags).  It does not mean that cotyledons would be visible if I had sown them in a pot.

So that was about 7 weeks just for the radicles.  Maybe yours are stirring below ground.
