you have to find a good source for the seed

As I said, it isn't difficult to germinate.  The seed must be fresh, it
will not store at all, so the problems people have with this species is
because they are getting old seed.  I got seed from Australia, freshly
harvested, and also from the Archibalds, who sent it to me as soon as
they received it.  I had no problems with either batch.  After
germinating, though, the seedlings remained very tiny for about three
years before they seemed to be growing.
