Bulbs surviving from year to year without being

The record for me was some surplus Ferraria corms that survived several
years (more than two) in the garage. When I found them they looked
unwithered, so I tried a few in a pot. I was very surprised when they grew
just fine.

Unfortunately, I have no idea which species they are, because they're very
frost-sensitive and even our mild freezes here are enough to cut them down
every year. But at least they're alive.
