Shelly, privacy & links, I couldn't agree more..... However, i always think
its funny, that people are so scared of facebook, its just another email
system really, if you boil it down. I know of many successful businesses
starting to use it & they have never had so many sales in decades of
business, no problems at all & they are all very happy with the result of
the additional marketing being linked to their websites etc... It does have
some benefits for some people. I hardly ever use it, but it tells me when
its a friends birthdays are on so I don't miss them any more haha...... I
also show my friends flower bulbs in flower at random, they just love it &
its wonderful to show it to them all at once, they don't have to open any
links to see them & now you can receive facebook through your email so you
don't have to log in, just send the email & bingo the photo is there.

As a PBS member I am always so surprised people are comfortable to open a
link, to see others photos. Luckily we know most of the people who place
links here for us to enjoy, but we are placing ourselves at possibly a far
greater risk opening links to others websites & photo pages, than logging
into a facebook email service & looking at photos that are openly posted on
an open site.. Zero chance of a virus if u don't have to open any links....

Personally, I think its dangerous for some people socially & can diminish
close contact with friends in some cases & brings other people much closer
together... For business its great & I feel so sorry for those who are
scared to us it because of a bunch media hype & narrow minded research that
shows, some people loose contact with their friends & stay on the computer
too long, maybe they surveyed the ones who don't have close enough friends
to be bothered seeing them.. My friends still make the effort & enjoy it as
well, so utr interaction has been enhanced by it if anything..

I bet it would greater enhance the life of many paraplegics & quadriplegics
who may never get to cuddle their friends : ) maybe we should survey them :
)

It is unfortunate in some ways that it is likely to become one of the most
used mediums for email, but is surrounded by fear & myth, as well as some
hard evidence, but I must say if PBS wants to attract more young people as
all us old cronies drop off, over time I think we will see more young
people "expecting" a more interactive system than we have now... They will
simply be conditioned to it already & will expect it across the board
because they will be used to it, we are seeing this on an enormous scale
already.

I think if PBS had conversations with photos included, our site would be
far more attractive to newcomers as people become more conditioned by
enjoying the ease of communication with photos in such a system as facebook
& other systems too...

Im not saying PBS should link to facebook, its easy to see many are
still frightened of the unknown, or perhaps just disagree
with supporting interactive systems altogether..

Although Its the old story of the shop keeper who complains web sites are
stealing all his business, but doesn't go and get a web site him self
because he's against it...
