I agree wholeheartedly. Whether sold to the highest bidder for an
"exclusive price" or given away free to interested parties there is no
indication that either route will help a given species (or clone, lineage,
etc.) to stay with us in cultivation. A wide range of venues and
motivations is both unavoidable and desirable in helping plants persist
outside of their natural habitats.
