Aad, I presume those are winter-growing species, right? If so, I have tried two approaches when importing bulbs from South Africa: --Store them dry and cool indoors until fall. If they start to sprout, pot them and start watering. --Store them dry in a refrigerator (not freezer), in a plastic bag so they do not get dried out, until fall. Then pot them and water.
