cardamom ginger

I have posted on the Mystery Bulbs page a photo of my mother's ginger blooming. It has a
terminal inflorescence, so it is not Elettaria, despite bearing that name when I bought
it almost 30 years ago. Is this an Alpinia? Any guesses as to which? While it grows
easily in containers and in the ground, it has only bloomed this once. The plant is
strongly aromatic when crushed and does smell like cardamom spice.
