Smoke-water and bulb growth

The compounds that break seed dormancy are found in the liquid smoke
products available in grocery stores for a fraction of the price of
horticultural products.  I have successfully used a 10% dilution on many
seeds for which smoke treatment is recommended by soaking them overnight.
