I may have mentioned this before, but I'd be careful with ethyl alcohol, denatured or not, especially if you are applying it to crevices in the bulb where it will evaporate slowly.  Test a sacrificial plant first.  I have seen significant tissue damage when I sprayed sensitive plants with ethyl alcohol, but I routinely use 70% isopropyl alcohol with no problems.
