There are numerous Web services for conducting elections. I don't know any names right now but I will find out. I have voted this way in elections for business organizations and small plant groups.

The California Rare Fruit Growers, Inc., a California 501(c)3, prints a proxy card in one issue of their journal per year. They also provide the PDF for those members who receive the journal only electronically. The proxy card authorizes the President or Secretary to vote for them at the annual meeting according to the information the member provides on the proxy card. The member may vote for all the candidates on the slate, may reject any or all candidates, or may write in candidate(s.) There is a check box that authorizes the proxy to vote on any matter of business presented at the annual meeting. It is not anonymous. It must be signed and returned to ensure one vote per person.

The Cactus and Succulent Society of America, Inc., another California 501(c)3, prints a ballot. It is anonymous but the mailing envelope must contain the name of the member. They hold an annual meeting at which all members are welcome. At the meeting, held in conjunction with their annual Show and Sale at the Huntington, members vote to approve the slate, may nominate candidates from the floor, and vote for officers and directors. The membership votes to approve the prior year's board actions. Any matter of business may be proposed at this meeting by any member, and voted on if seconded. The Secretary brings the tally of mail-in votes and sums them with in-person votes.

PBS holds no such event though - yet.
