Group Order

To all who have submitted orders for our group purchase:
Leigh is beginning the arduous task of picking everything.  It's my understanding that each person's order will be in its own bag or box, making it easier for Bridget to do the follow-on shipping.  The whole thing will go from APHIS-ATL directly to Bridget rather than making a stopover with me.
Please be aware that some things are in short supply so not everyone will get everything they ordered.  But you will only be billed for what you get, obviously.
You also need to be aware of some import permit issues.  As you know, many botanical names have synonyms, depending on which author you believe.  The APHIS inspectors go by what genera are in the official data base, and sometimes the name in the data base is a synonym of the name in the catalog.  They will be shipped under the appropriate synonym (e.g., Ledebouria megaphyla = Resnova megaphylla).  When you get your order, please check this before sending a note complaining that you ordered a Resnova but got a Ledebouria.  I think we're all smart enough to figure these out when the plants arrive.
More seriously, after adding all the needed genera to my permit, I got a letter from APHIS stating that Gladiolus, Pelargonium, and Watsonia are not allowed import at this time.  There is an issue of pests, apparently, and there is no legitimate work-around for this one.  So if you ordered any of these items, you won't get them.
This is such a huge order that I don't want to risk having the whole thing confiscated because of some blunder on our part.  So if this affects you, please be understanding: like it or not, we're going to follow the rules.  At my age, five years in jail would be a life sentence.
I will provide further updates as things move forward.
