The offspring
MM 10-25a. Not every experiment can produce great results. I wanted to see if I'd get some odd recessive genes from this cross, but instead it looks very much like M. aristata. Maybe the tepals are a little broader, and the eye is less prominent, but if I didn't know this was a hybrid I'd probably assume it was M aristata. That's not surprising, I guess, since it contributed 3/4 of the total genes in the cross.
