Solomons Seal Sawfly

Solomon's Seal Sawfly (Phymatocera aterrima) larvae will cause considerable damage in a short space of time in early Summer. They can be stopped by general purpose insecticides. Many members of the genus Polygonatum are commonly known as "Solomon's Seal" and attacked by this insect.
