Title: Ipomoea quamoclit
Post by: Arnold on October 11, 2022, 07:15:51 AM
From a Friend looking for some seeds:

I'm searching in this time for seeds of Ipomoea quamoclit ...I try it since many years but until now without success
Some seed sellers offer it ...but they are always wrong named
Here is the true plant ( Ipomoea quamoclit ):
https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:326361-2

That's the hybrid ( it is easy to get – Ipomoea x multifida ...it runs also under Ipomoea x sloteri ) ...this plant I have

Try this
https://www.sunshine-seeds.de/product_info.php?products_id=45887&language=en

Or this
https://www.plant-world-seeds.com/store/view_seed_item/6553

Or this
https://www.rarepalmseeds.com/ipomoea-quamoclit

Sorry they are all German or English sources. They at least show the correct picture.

Usually you get the "right" plant if they offer white and pink forms, as those only exist of I. quamoclit, and not of x sloteri.

If anyone needs an American source: I got (back when it was possible correct quamoclit from Swallowtail

https://www.swallowtailgardenseeds.com/vines/cypress_vine.html

they also offer the x sloteri  separately:
