Ok, Uli, you told me about the narcissus fly...

I know more or less what glaucophyllum and platypetalum are, or at least what Regis Bastian says they are. But I agree that none of them is aulicum.

Mystery Bulbs / Re: Romulea ramiflora

Hi, I am trying to get wild Spanish / Portuguese bulbocodium, and bulbocodium from the Ligurian Alps, which should be the type locality (Linnaeus said 'Italian Alps', but the plant does not occur in the true Alps, like around Milan, Turin, etc, it's too cold).

Quote from: Carlos on April 02, 2024, 10:23:49 PMHi, I am not really on Albuca, but this one is quite attractive. It does not seem to produce the dozens of bulbils seen on other species, does it?  Surely it is not spiralis?

I'd be willing to swap a few seeds. I also have dozens of bulbils of another unidentified species that I posted last year.
Hi Carlos, if I get seed I'm happy to mail some to you. I bought these as 20mm+ bulbs. I've had one for a few years, and added 3 more last couple years. I guess I don't know for sure, but haven't seen signs of bulbils yet.
Thanks!!

HI, it is Oncostema (was Scilla) peruviana, not from Peru but from the Western Mediterraneand and adjacent Atlantic coast.

General Discussion / Re: Telos rare bulbs purchases

Hi.

What I can tell is that I was about to place an order of over $300 a month ago and she never confirmed.

Speaking of Hippeastrum, I've been told that some of the bulbs she offers as botanical species turn out to be hybrids.

Regarding the rest, people seem to be very happy.

Narcissus bulbocodium subsp quintanilhae, A lot was written on it by Dr. Abílio Fernandes, but I still don't understand what it is.

Asphodelus ayardii. I finally found a good stand only a 10 min drive and 10 min walk from home, and we got rain, so they will set good seed.

Also fistulosus and cerasiferus in the area, they don't seem to hybridize. The flowers of ayardii stay open a little longer than those of fistulosus, it was about 17:20 and all fistulosus were closed.
