Bulb and Seed Exchanges / BX/SX arrears
July 19, 2022, 03:29:28 PM
We have a couple of BX/SX in the pipeline.

We also have a fair number of outstanding payments due for past BX/SX's.

If you received seeds or bulbs it would be a good time to catch up on payments and not miss future offerings.

General Discussion / Re: Mealy bugs and scale

Randy:

I've used a soap and water solution as my first attempt at controlling a pest.

If you can get a liquid Castillian soap that would  be perfect.

I use one ounce in a quart of water for a dilution.

It's the soap molecule that dissolves the waxy coating of many bugs that does them in.

Second shot would be Neem or a product called Spinosad which is an organic composed of a bacteria.

David:

I purchased an aluminized HDPE cover for the greenhouse.

it is available in different percentages of transmission.

I use 40%.

it's a pain to drape it over the greenhouse.  My greenhouse is a lean to and it's hard to get up on a small roof to drape the cover over the glass.
