Grown from BX 363 seed (June 2014) as Hippeastrum stylosum. But looks more like a xHippeastrelia.

Rimmer,  I'm pretty sure that Hippe is not stylosum.  You're right about how it looks.

I dunno, but B. carduchorum is in spike in San Francisco right now, as the leaves are collapsing around it.

I wonder if the comment on the wiki about bloom time is regarding plants in their natural habitat where flowering and growth is triggered by a change in temperature and rainfall. The wiki does show photos with seasons and they're not all in fall. I'd like to improve the wiki text.

Sinningia iarae from SX6 seed. This blooms off and on every year with a dormant period between growths. Not sure how long from seed to bloom but probably 1-2 yrs
