Hi,

I joined the PBS two years ago, and have appreciated all the wisdom shared in the archives of the list. Thank you.

I often go to local plant shares, and about 2 1/2 years ago, someone brought a bunch of mystery bulbs. The lady had dug out all the bulbs a prior homeowner had planted around her yard. She said this was a gladiolus, but I didn't think so and took a few home.

The corms looked like watsonia, but when it grew foliage it reminded me more of crocosmia, but I have only grown a few species of either of those. My Watsonia bloomed back in late March to mid April. The foliage on this mystery corm is thin and about 30" tall.

Can you help me with an id? It just began blooming on May 15th and is still blooming today, here in coastal Southern California/ USDA 10b/ Sunset 22. Would more photos be helpful?

Thank you
