Leucojum autumnale forms

I have just posted some images of
Leucojum autumnale (var. autumnale ?), L. autumnale var. oporanthum and
L. autumnale var. pulchellum on my web site (
http://www.johnlonsdale.net/ ). The validity of the nomenclature of these
lovely plants has puzzled me for some time and I'd be grateful if anyone
has any comments. In my material I can discern no difference between L.
autumnale and var. pulchellum. However, var. oporanthum in this clone
has much less of the red pigment in the flowers and stems and has
flowers which are more cylindrical, less conical in shape.

Thanks, J.
