fertile?

Hi David,
Yes they do produce pollen and I've used them as pollen donors to fertilise
Amaryllis belladonna; fertile seed is produced and I've a few plants here,
however I still have to flower them to make absolutely sure, I'm sure
they'll turn out x Amarcrinum.

The form of C. x powellii that I use for the cross was smuggled in from
South Korea in 1926 by someone called Bill Francis. I've now named this form
after him as it produces huge bulbs (15 1/2 inches circumference) and must
be very hardy having survived here since its early import.

Best Wishes,
Dave
