I'm a CP addict, too. D. are often easy from seed - ( maybe when 
fresh?) When you keep them in standing water, salt will build up 
and kill 'em if you don't water with salt free water (distilled or 
...)(unless you rinse them often?). Half sand and half peat works 
too. I'm pretty sure, if you don't have any handy, live moss will 
develop over time on the surface of the peat. I wonder which ones 
are most outdoor hardy, how low can they go and how wet/dry do 
they like to be when extra cold.
