Almost everywhere:
Inspect frost-tender bulbs, corms and tubers you have stored inside.
Throw out soft ones, except for dahlias which can be rescued by
cutting out the rotten bit and dusting with sulphur. Store
separately from the others.

Buy amaryllis (Hippeastrum) and store in a cool dark place. Then pot
at 2 week intervals for bloom until mid-February.

Start bringing out pots of hyacinths, narcissus and other spring
bulbs that are to be forced into the light. (They need to be in a
cool dark place for 10 or 11 weeks.)
