Winter down under

Hi all,

As it gets warmer for you all in the northern hemisphere spare a
thought for those of us where it is getting colder.

There are,of course, always some gardening delights at this time of
year. I grow several forms of Iris unguicularis which flower in the
open garden here in late autumn and winter. Here is an early bloom
of the cultivar Starkers Pink .The blooms are quite delicate and the
latest batch have been destroyed by the current southwesterly blast
we are getting, which is our first taste of winter.
