Dear Diana et al :
I was thinking days ago that the loss of Mike
Vassar could be compared to the death of Elwood Molseed of cancer at 26. He
was the botanical genius that produced the Tigridia monograph that still
remains the standard work for the genus. Mike was an outstanding expert and
we can only regret that he is no longer with us as such and as the great
human he was.
