Hi Gang,

I posted a note on another Bulb forum about Crinum razafindratsiraea.
Mostly, I'm curious to know where this plant comes from and what sort of habitat
(desert, savanna, seasonally wet, etc.). I have found one publication that
refers to Crinum razafindratsiri, perhaps this is a misspelling or a spelling
variation.

I got one reply that the I might want is in Herbertia, volume 55, pages
130-133. If any of you have read that article (from about 2000), I'd enjoy hearing
a bit more about the species.

As near as I can tell, it comes from Madagascar and is a not-too-distant
relative of C. mauritianum. So, I'm guessing it likes seasonally wet conditions
and dry winters, or perhaps wet conditions all year.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Cordially,

Joe (more thundershowers today, about 90 F)
