Allium tetraploidy?

Just back from a trip through the Coast Ranges of northern California.
There were many populations of Allium falcifolium in bloom, but one
population on Etsel Ridge near Covelo in Mendocino National Forest was about
double the normal size for A. falcifolium in all its parts - although I
didn't dig a bulb. Leaf, flower umbel, stem and individual florets were
very large for this allium. Is there any record of tetraploidy in alliums?
