I have been growing the same plant (the clone 'Sochi') for some years in a
raised bed in full sun. It flowers very late. It does not increase much
vegetatively, nor set seed. In appearance it is virtually identical to O.
narbonense, which increases more rapidly.

I expect Janis grows it in full sun because he is so much farther north
than its native region. My climate is about the same as the Pontic region.
If it is doing well where Jim has it, I would leave it there -- "Don't fix
it if it ain't broke."
