Hi all,

Pieter van der Walt asked about treating Stagnospora infections in
Scadoxus. Benlate worked very well; now, we use
thiophanate-methyl. Probably any systemic fungicide would serve. It hits
our bulbs mainly in unusually wet weather. If the infection persists, a
regular regimen of spraying every two weeks and of alternating fungicides
regularly should eventually enable the bulb to recover. In severely
infected plants, cut away the worst affected parts and dowse the stumps
with diluted hydrogen peroxide before starting the fungicide sprays.
