My greatest success with growing Lachenalias was when I had them under
growlights (16hrs/day) in an unheated attic room where the temps stayed in
the 40's and 50's F for weeks at a time. A number of spp bloomed nicely for
a week or so before becoming leggy and flopping over. Best success was with
Ll. mutabilis, aloides, carnosa, rosea, contaminata, splendida, and
kliprandensis. Now I am growing them in a warmer room under the same
conditions and having only a little success.
