Plant accession database

A while ago there was some limited discussion of the topic of accession
databases suitable for maintaining plant records in a garden setting. I
bought the discounted Compleat Botanica and tried it out but returned it
because it is impossible to customize the areas that most need customizing,
such as the taxonomical hierarchy to apply to accessions.

Is there anything out there, privately or commercially developed, that might
be used off the shelf or with limited customization in something like MS
Access.

Our middle daughter is home from school for a month and I sense a (paid)
data entry opportunity!

Have a great holiday.

Best,

John
