I just returned from AZ with stops at Yuma; Organ Pipe National
Momument -- south of Ajo on CALMEX border; Sonoma Desert Museum,
Tucson; Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Superior, AZ -- just east of Phoenix;
and Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix. Flowers at or just past
peak. Terrific. Guess I saw "The Sheik" movie too many times with its
bare sand dunes. The Sonoran Desert is positively alive and
