Iris domestica

I have a well-behaved, undemanding clump of Belamcanda that is about three
years old. I have read that it is short lived and the plant dies off after
blooming. I haven't experienced this yet but perhaps I'm about to. Does
anyone know if seed is really the only method of propagation?
Also, is the hybrid, pardancanda, equally drought tolerant?
Thanks!
