Sternbergia question

I grew S. candida from seed and it has been flowering for about 4 years 
now. The flowers seem to be larger each year, as the bulbs gain size. It is 
faintly scented but you have to sniff it, and in cold conditions the scent 
may not be apparent. I hand-pollinated the flowers but it may be too cold 
for fertilization to take place, even in the bulb frame.

So don't give up on it, Angelo, just feed it well and it will give you 
bigger flowers next year!
