Hi Gang, Les Hannibal wrote a lot about Crinums; Marcelle Sheppard has always used his Crinum names and designations/descriptions in her breeding program. Mr. Hannibal published a booklet on Garden Crinums in 1970 or 1971 (Bulletin of the Louisiana Society for Horticultural Research, Vol. III, No. 5, 1970-1971). I've scanned the booklet and put it online; I find it to be a great source of information. Of course, we know more now than we did then and taxonomic designations assigned by Mr. Hannibal have been superceded in some cases. Nonetheless, I hope you find the booklet as fascinating and informative as I did. The PDF file is large (about 10 Mb) and might be slow to download by dial-up connection. Additionally, be sure to rotate the file when you view it so that it reads left to right (not top to bottom).
