Peony season 2007 opens

Peony season 2007 opened today with, as usual, Paeonia mascula. If you look
carefully, color can be seen on some tree peony buds.

Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, USDA zone 7, where the inflorescence of
Dichelostemma volubile is already about eighteen inches high, and I can see
flower buds on some arilate irises - and Arum korolkowii is in bloom.
