Allium traubii

Mark, I'm curious about the performance of your various Mexican Allium when
grown outside.

Over the years, I've discovered that some Mexican geophytes seem to be hardy
here in Maryland. But there is a catch: they emerge very late in the year,
sometimes not until well into June or early July. Oxalis of Mexican origin
are a good example.

Do the Mexican Allium show this delayed renewal of growth when grown
outside?

Have others who are growing Mexican geophytes noticed anything comparable?
John Lonsdale mentioned that he is also growing Allium traubii: John, does
it emerge promptly in the spring for you?
