This is the title of a charming and very informative little book
subtitled "Outwit the Weather and Extend the Spring and Fall Seasons"
written by Philip Harden and published by Willow Creek Press, Minocqua,
Wisconsin in 2003.

There are chapters on Understanding Frost, Forecasting Frost, Fending
Off Frost and more. Fabulous pictures. Sidebars on "Understanding
Humidity and frost" "Forecasting Frost by Temperature Drop" (this one is
a chart), "Bliss Formula" to wit: "At 1/2 hour after sunset, note air
temperature (a) and dew point temperature (b). Add these temperatures
and multiply the sum by .31 to get the lowest temperature likely (c). (a
+ b) x .31 = c"

Geared for the vegetable gardening crowd, but useful for all gardeners.
