Attitude/audaciousness/impudence/cheek/spite/pure orneriness Sometimes I think they bloom or don't bloom despite our best scientific efforts just to keep us humble. My gold Lycoris that I dug up from the parking lot at work last year are blooming away today. The red Lycoris I planted before them are sulking.
