Fritillaria species seen in flower in the bulb frames today include Ff.
stenanthera, armena, raddeana, gibbosa, latifolia, montana, striata. Many
more are in bud. Flowering in this genus here extends from now through April.

Other genera producing early flowers (actually rather late here owing to a
long cold snap in January) include Hyacinthella, Crocus, Scilla,
Ornithogalum, Corydalis, Acis/Leucojum, Tropaeolum, and of course many
species of Narcissus. In the garden are many crocuses and Puschkinia as
well as snowdrops and Eranthis.
