I wonder if your bulbs are properly named. The one time I flowered A. 
trichophylla, I was struck by the shape of the flower; in profile, like a 
ballerina's tutu in Swan Lake.

That is, spreading and curved, near hemispherical.

A. autumnale has a conical flower, more or less.
