I collect and grow Hypoxis in South Africa and some of them you find in
the low lying areas close to rivers and some grow in clay soil. So they
are wet in the growing season but the clay become very dry in winter.
I personally only grow my plants even the ones out of clay areas in a
sandy mix with 50% sandy potting soil and 50% course pine bark potting
soil that I also youse for Clivias. Hypoxis is certainly one of the
hardies bulbs there is but the seeds take a long time to geminate.
