This species winters in containers here -- by the hundred. We have 10 or so forms and have offered them a couple of times, but sales have always been anemic. Roscoea alpina and R. brandesii has proven equally hardy; R. purpurea, R. auriculata, and R. 'Beesiana' less so. R. humeana is perhaps the gem of the genus, but not as amenable to cultivation.
