Iris unguicularis

I'm just in from trimming my Iris unguicularis, something I haven't 
done before but which sounds like a mighty good idea.  Thank you Mary 
Sue Ittner for your timely remark.
I grow it in the ground in a 15oF (-10oC) min. temp. sunhouse where it 
usually puts out its first tentative blooms around Oct. 30.  For the 
cause of this year's delay I need look no further than the second 
dimmest June on record.
