  You can always use the "waste" water to water something else which
is not sensitive to dissolved minerals ... mine went to support a bog
garden and the lawn...

Thanks, Albert.  The reverse osmosis filter sounds interesting, although 
I didn't realize there was wastewater associated with it.  That's 
helpful to know.
