Why we should care about pathogenic viruses in our plants

The assertion that viruses are not usually transitted via seed has been made
several times in this thread.

Does anyone know what happens in those cases where seed is produced
parthenocarpically by a virus infected mother plant?

I would expect the resulting "seedlings" to be virus infected since they and the
mother plant form a vegetatively reproduced clone.

Can anyone cite examples of this from literature?
