Good morning,
I grew a number of Sinningia tubiflora from seed from the BX. They were
propagated in my all season greenhouse . They thrived vegetatively and
offset copiously. None bloomed neither did I experience the heights
described recently. Most of the tubers were donated to the BX this year.
Since, I have learned they need cold to bloom and are reported to be hardy
in USDA 7. Thus, no more coddling and cosseting--out they go.
Best, Joyce Miller, Gresham, OR USDA Zone 7 where we have broken the record
for June average rainfall and it is barely past the mid-month.
