Native N American crops

Hi All,

Though not a crop used much today acorns were a very valuable food source for a very long time in North America for the Indians. With many oak trees around me I have been tempted to try them out. With proper processing of course. I read somewhere that the Indians nurtured areas of oak trees to help ensure an ample supply. Also those of you who know about Beech Nut trees. The nuts are very tasty which also grows in my area. Trouble with Beech Nuts is finding them before the squirrels.
