Dear All:
First, my apologies on sending the BX request to the general list without checking the e-mail address.
Second, I have a clump of Hippeastrum johnsonii I got from Old House Gardens some time ago and am pondering its fate. It's in bloom now and the new growth is green and unmarked. The old leaves, however, have all of the mottling and discoloring that is associated with viruses. This has been its pattern of growth for the past couple of years and for that reason I have isolated it from my other plants. Who has experience with this ancient hybrid? Is this normal or should I dispose of this plant?
