The bulbs which perennialize

Regarding the Tulips which grow in Zone 9/10 and breeding, I have never noticed any seedpods on any of my species tulips to date, so I suspect they are sterile or triploids.

I have the various T. clusiana types (which somehow must be fertile - else how did the other hybrids arise ?)
T. wilsonii (perhaps ?, it's short and red and seems to be sticking around)
T. bakeri (pink with the yellow throat)

Otherwise I would love to grow them from seed...
