I saw these bulbs in Ixtatan de la Sale, State of Mexico (pictured at:

When I first saw them, about a month ago, they had just started to bud,
but I found them in flower when I went back this Sunday (June 19th). The
plants are up to 4 feet tall (1.25 meters). The leaves have greenish purple
spots and the flowers are about 1.5 inches (3.7 cm) long. The petals have small
white cottony patches on the tips. It seems something is eating into the
large, spotted stamens before they are open. Any help you could give me in
identifying this plant would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dale
